A research project about the meanings we read into a birth chart

I'm a writer, based in Cyprus.

Before this I spent years in marketing and SEO, which is unglamorous training for exactly this work. It teaches you to trace a claim back to whoever first made it, and to notice when everyone is confidently repeating a source nobody has read.

I found Human Design in 2020 and tested it on the biggest decision I could find. I left my job in London, gave up my flat, and moved back to Latvia with no plan. It changed how I made decisions for years afterwards, and I would rather say that plainly than pretend I arrived here as a sceptic.

So I started building a practice around reading charts — Natal Settings — and writing articles to support it. Tracing the meanings back is what stopped me. They kept ending in the recent past, with a named author or a mistranslation or a committee, rather than with anything anyone had observed. The practice never opened.

I think I understand the appeal, because I still feel it. Your birth looks like the one exact fact about you — a date, a time, a place — so it seems like it ought to carry something. And astrology, among others, hands you a beautiful map with the descriptions already written on it.
